I am alive, I am alive, I am alive. These words have circled my mind with urgency in a year when we have lost and grieved two family members. I felt such a sadness that they couldn’t experience the gorgeous sunshine that I was sitting in at the beach, or feel the blustery wind that was throwing the trees around as I stepped out of the care home. The fact that they couldn’t was heartbreaking and the grief could sometimes feel like a physical weight. But that love and loss was combined with a need to appreciate my finite time here.
We can’t spend every second of the day grateful for it, but sometimes it’s helpful to be reminded of our amazing existence and our place in this brilliant world. We are alive, we are alive, we are alive.
